After Saturday’s fantastic victory over Wrexham the Silkmen turn their attentions to the FA Trophy as they take on FC Halifax Town at the MBI Shay (3pm Kick-Off).

Macclesfield will be filled with confidence after Saturday’s result and enter the competition as they highest ranked team in the tournament.

Last year’s successful run in the cup ended with a trip to Wembley. David Fitzpatrick was part of the squad that day and after his first goal of the season he’s been previewing the trip to Yorkshire.

We’ve picked up a few injuries, but confidence is sky high,” Said Fitzpatrick.

“There’s going to be a lot of games and we’re going to need everyone ready to go, so it’s important that our confidence stays high and everyone sticks together.

“Our away record has been really good this year so we’re confident going into the game.”

Full-back Fitzpatrick, who has also played every single minute of the Silkmen’s successful league campaign to date, also spoke about last year’s success but admits the league is Macclesfield’s main aim this season.

“This year, the league is priority but last year we got to the final and to that big occasion at Wembley, so we’ll be going for the FA trophy again I’m sure.”
