Macclesfield defender David Fitzpatrick is confident heading into the weekend’s game with Boreham Wood, but is well aware of the quality they possess.
Fitzpatrick – who’s played every game for the Silkmen this season – says Wood will be a difficult test, but the boys are capable of beating anyone who faces them.
With The Silkmen back to winning ways, Fitz took the time to speak to us before we host the tenth placed opposition.
He said: “We struggled against them last year. I’ve looked at their squad and they’ve signed a lot of good players. They’ve got a very strong team but on our day we’ll beat anybody.”
The Silkmen are all set for back-to-back home games with Boreham Wood and Tranmere over the coming week, and Fitz says it’s important the side capitalise on their home advantage.
“It’s good to be back home, but we need to get on top of our home form,” he said. “It’s not been quite as good as the away form at times and if we can sort that out, we’ll be right up there.
“I think we’ve got a very good chance of making the play-offs at this stage but our home form will dictate whether we challenge for the title or not.” He added.
