Last weekend’s last-gasp winner against Maidenhead brought February to a fitting end for Macclesfield Town. They picked up four wins from four over the course of the month – including victories over promotion rivals Aldershot and Tranmere.
However, as always, there is the small matter of the goal of the month award to reveal.
This month, The Silkmen netted nine goals in the league, and the supporters were asked to vote for their favourite. The majority of votes would be cast the winner.
And, with a convincing 86.67% of the votes, Elliot Durrell’s powerful effort at Prenton Park wins the award. It was his second and Macclesfield’s fourth of the night, in a game that Danny Whitaker also netted twice.
With our first goal of the month, the equaliser in the home game against Guiseley, Nathan Blissett claimed second spot with 11.11% of the votes. It was his first goal in Silkmen colours and he would later add to his tally in the following fixture against Aldershot.
And finally, in third spot, came Scott Wilson’s late winner against Maidenhead in our last home fixture. This claimed 2.2%.
