Elliot Durrell insists the Macclesfield Town squad need to remain positive, despite enduring a frustrating afternoon at home to Eastleigh on Saturday.
Two goals in unfortunate circumstances for the home side, either side of half time, saw visitors Eastleigh come away with the points at Moss Rose.
The hosts created the majority of the chances and, although Danny Whitehead pulled one back in injury time it just wasn’t the home sides day. They did though, remain second going into the FA cup break.
Durrell told Silkmen TV that although Saturday was frustrating for everyone, they must remain positive.
He said: “Nothing changed too much after the game (league position) and, obviously, nothing is won or lost in October - we’ve just got to remain positive. We went on a six-game winning streak and there’s no reason why we can’t do that again.
“We’ll also take positives out of Saturday, but I’m not making any excuses, we should be winning those games. We’ve created enough chances and on another occasion, we probably would have won. But, on the day, we came away with nothing and we’ve got two weeks now where we have to work harder and put things right.
“We have to be better and we need to make sure we work hard. Hopefully we’ll turn it round in the FA Cup game with Forest Green on Saturday."
