We continue to review our fantastic title winning season in the National League with an alternative look at each month of the season in numbers.
December saw Christmas come a few weeks early for Macc, as Santa helped clear snow from the pitch against Wrexham and the Silkmen marched to the top of the league.
So here’s all the facts and figures for December.
1 – The Silkmen stormed to the top of the league with four wins out of five matches in December.
10 – The total number of goals Macc scored over the month, averaging at two per game.
90 – Keith Lowe scored at the death to bag the Silkmen three points against Hartlepool United, capping the perfect comeback after being 1-0 down at half-time.
1 – David Fitzpatrick scored his first goal for Macc since signing for the Silkmen in 2015. He scored the final goal in the 4-1 win against Wrexham.
13 – Unlucky for some, but not for the Silkmen who notched up 13 points in December.
8 – The number of added minutes at the end of the Wrexham match after it was paused to allow for the clearing of snow from the pitch.
3 – Scott Wilson bagged a hat-trick as Macc ran riot against Wrexham.
746 – For just two away games at Bromley and Hartlepool United, the Silkmen team and fans approximately travelled a staggering 746 miles all-round.
6 – Local Macc fans were out at 6am to clear the snow from the Moss Rose pitch ahead of Wrexham’s visit on 9th December.
9 – The total number of points Macc secured in the final 15 minutes of matches during December. Six goals were scored by the Silkmen during this time frame across the month.
