After Easter Monday’s Cheshire derby victory over Chester, attentions quickly turn to Saturday’s match-up against Ebbsfleet United.

Under Daryl McMahon, the Fleet have proven to be difficult opponents to face in their first season back in the National League and Saturday is bound to be no different.

So, as we begin to preview Saturday’s match we take a look at two players who played for both clubs.

John Paul Kissock

In the 2012/13 season Kissock certainly made a name for himself whilst on loan with the Silkmen. The attacking midfielder was an ever-present in the team after signing on loan from Luton Town going on to make 37 appearances and scoring 1 goal.

In June 2015, he signed for Ebbsfleet on a free transfer. However, he only played 2 games for the Fleet despite scoring 2 goals in those games.

The midfielder started his career with Everton and went on to represent the likes of Accrington Stanley, Southport, Hamilton, Oldham and Telford in his career.

Stefan Payne

Stefan Payne is currently helping Shrewsbury Town with their League One promotion push. However, the striker has also run out for Macc and Ebbslfleet.

Payne spent a very brief stint at the Moss Rose, making a solitary appearance for the Silkmen after coming off the substitutes bench.

After leaving Moss Rose in January 2013, the striker left to join Saturday’s opponents and had a more productive spell at Stonebridge Road. The striker played 12 games for the Ebbsfleet, scoring 2 goals.
