Here’s a look at three of the players who have donned the shirt of both Macclesfield and Boreham Wood.
Moke has had turbulent career, but will be remembered by Silkmen fans for his presence at the Moss during the 2014/15 season. He credits the club for getting his career back on track, earning a move to Wrexham the following season, before moving to Boreham Wood in 2016. Unfortunately that switch lasted only five months, before he moved to York to be closer to his family.
The only player on this list who is still an active Boreham Wood squad player, Murtagh turned out for Macclesfield in the 2012/13 season, making 39 appearances and scoring twice. He moved up the leagues to join Mansfield Town following success at the Moss, but eventually joined Boreham Wood this season via Woking.
24-year-old Matthew Ball spent a month with Macclesfield on loan back in 2012, joining from Norwich City. He returned to his home club without making an appearance for the Silkmen, and later joined Stevenage, who loaned him to Boreham Wood for the 2013/14 season. He played 21 times – scoring four – in what was a much more productive spell.
