Macclesfield Town are delighted to announce that our volunteer Chrissie Thompson has been awarded ‘The National League Volunteer Of The Month Award’ for March!
The new award recognises the incredible contribution by volunteers across the division and here at Macclesfield Town we are no different. The Football Club relies heavily on the contribution of volunteers and Chrissie epitomises that.
A huge Macclesfield fan, Chrissie gives her time to oversee the reception team at the Moss Rose and helps to make things tick in the office.
She is also a key figure in the Silkmen Supporters Trust and helps to bridge the gap between supporters and fans.
After collecting her award, Chrissie said: “The award was totally unexpected and is a great honour. I would like to thank the reception team who work alongside me for their continued support and willingness to help out when we are short staffed. The office staff are always really supportive as well.
“I volunteer because I love the club. It is good to be able to have the opportunity to help out and play my own small part.
“There are so many people in the Football Club that this could have been given to and it is so nice to see that all of our hard work has been noticed.”
Commenting on Chrissie’s recognition, Club Chairman Mark Blower added: “We are all really pleased for Chrissie. Along with all the volunteers at the club she plays a massive role in the success Macclesfield Town.
“Chrissie has done so much for the Club over the last few seasons and we really are so lucky to have her as part of our team.”
