Scott Burgess has said that Saturday’s test away at Hartlepool will be a tough one, but a match the Silkmen are capable of winning.
Macclesfield go into the game at Victoria Park on a run of three games without defeat and will be wanting to carry that on in the north-east as John Askey’s side try to close in on the top.
The match-up will be the second time the two teams have met this season, with the previous match ending in a 1-1 draw when Danny Whitaker’s header was cancelled out by Jake Cassidy.
Scott Burgess has been speaking to www.mtfc.co.uk ahead of the game.
“Hartlepool’s a tough game, they’ve just dropped down from league 2,” He said.
“We played them earlier on in the season and they’re a good team and a physical team, but I think if we play our game again we’ve got a good chance of winning.
“We’ve been playing well, so we just have to keep working h hard in training and hopefully we can keep the results coming our way.

Burgess also spoke about the Silkmen’s unbeaten run and said that the team and himself will keep having to work hard to stay at the top.
“We’ve drawn the last couple but that unbeaten run keeps going so we need to keep plugging away now and get those results.
“It’s very tight there’s been a lot of teams slipping up really which has helped us, we’re only 1 point away from the top so it’s good that we’re in and around it and we’ve got to keep working hard to stay in the top three or four.”
