John Askey’s side travel to Boreham Wood tomorrow looking to extend their 10-point lead at the top of The National League. Here is a recap of some of the previous meetings between these two sides.
Macclesfield 0-2 Boreham Wood (08/10/2016)
After the two games in the previous season had ended as goalless draws between these two sides, Boreham Wood came away from Moss Rose with all three points in the first clash of the 2016/17 season.
Kenny Davis opened the afternoon’s scoring from the penalty spot, before Danny Woodards doubled his sides lead with 82 minutes on the clock.
Macclesfield dropped down into fifth with the result, Boreham Wood remained 12th.
Boreham Wood 2-4 Macclesfield Town (01/04/2017)
John Askey will be hoping for the same from Mitch Hancox later tonight, as he netted a first half hattrick in the game at Meadow Park between these two sides last season.
Anthony Dudley opened the scoring for The Silkmen after just six minutes, but the home side hit back through David Stephens jsut 14 minutes later.
After that, it was the Hancox show. He grabbed his first after Danny Whitaker’s effort was rebounded, before he latched on to Rhys Browne’s cutback on the stroke of halftime to double his tally. However, there was still time for him to grab his third before the whistle, as his low shot bounced in off the post.
Bruno Andrade would pull a goal back towards the end, but the day belonged to a Hancox inspired Macclesfield Town.
