Baba On Bouncing Back

Macclesfield Town

Tuesday’s narrow 1-0 loss to Halifax saw the Silkmen’s 11 match unbeaten run come to an end, but even in defeat Macclesfield Town had chances to win the game. The exit out of the FA Trophy was a rare blot on a near perfect copybook for the Silkmen this season as they top the National league table.

The focus will now turn to extending the good league form, and bouncing back from the FA Trophy defeat, and Noe Baba has reiterated the teams desire to continue the winning streak. He spoke to SilkmenTV after the defeat:

“You want to win as many games as you can whether it is FA Trophy or the league but we will have time to focus on the league now and that is the next aim for us.

“We have to get back into the training ground and see what we didn’t do well tonight and work on that. For me I believe it’s good to get back to working on the basics, get on the training ground and look forward to that game (against AFC Fylde).

“We just have to keep going like the last time we suffered defeat, now it is time to start again.”

In the busy fixture period Baba has enjoyed increased playing time, whether that be as a makeshift right-back, or in his preferred midfield role.

“I have enjoyed being back in the team, I am a bit disappointed in myself tonight, but going forward I am really happy that I have been able to help the team the last couple of weeks, and look forward to making more positive performances.”
