John Askey says his side were pleased with their performance following the 0-0 draw with Boreham Wood this weekend.
The 0-0 draw leaves Macclesfield just one point off the top of the league at what is almost the half-way point of the season, with Dover leading the charge just above them.
Macclesfield could’ve stolen the game on a couple of occasions, but the result was representative of a tight affair at the Moss Rose.
Speaking after the game, Askey said: “It was probably a fair result. We’ve probably had more chances – I don’t think Shwan had to make a save – but you can see why they’ve gone so many games without being beaten.
“I was pleased with how we played, games like those are tough and I’m pleased with our performance. They’re a very decent side and to come away with a draw isn’t a bad result.
“The defence looked solid. They never really opened us up. We just needed to put one in when all those half-chances came along, but it wasn’t to be. It keeps us going now and hopefully we’ll get on a run of not losing.”
