Askey On Woking Test

Macclesfield manager John Askey is hoping his side can continue their winning form as the Silkmen prepare to face Woking at the Moss Rose this weekend.

Macclesfield have picked up all available points from their last two matches, and sit outside of the play-off spots only thanks to goal difference following a good first month of the 2017/18 season.

With plenty to play for, and an evidently competitive squad, John Askey says he believes confidence should play a big part in the players’ mentality heading into the Woking match.

He said: “Every game is tough in this league and we can’t take anybody lightly. Woking have had a lot of changes – new manager, new owner – we don’t know what to expect besides what we’ve seen.

“We know that if we play well then we’re a match for anybody in this league. Confidence is big in any sport so the players should go into this match full of confidence, thinking only about winning.”
