Macclesfield Town manager John Askey says he is confident the club can progress in their FA Trophy tie with Halifax.
The Silkmen were already scheduled to face Halifax twice in the space of a week as the fixture list reverses over the turn of the year, but the FA Trophy draw will now see them travel to Yorkshire twice in the space of little over two weeks.
On the draw, Askey said: “It’s not the best draw for us. We were hoping for a home draw against a team lower in the leagues, and with it being Halifax as well – playing them three times in about two weeks – it’s not ideal.
“We’ve still got a good chance of getting through whoever we play, and it’s a competition we want to do well in again.
“As I said last year, once you’ve been to Wembley it makes you want to go back. We’ll be trying our best to do so.
“There’s one or two members of the squad who need games, but we’ve only got 18 players so we can’t jig the team around too much. Whoever we bring in we know they’ll be more than capable of getting the job done for us.”
