John Askey admits that he is on the hunt for extra reinforcements after he was left disappointed by the return of Shamir Mullings to Forest Green.
The manager, speaking after the victory over Barrow, says it is important that his side look to recruit after Mullings returned to his parent club.
The big forward was initially brought in to provide cover for Scott Wilson and Tyrone Marsh, as Askey looked to continue his sides good start to the league campaign.
However, the injury, and return, for Mullings hasn’t stopped the Macclesfield manager’s recruitment and he says he hopes to replace him as soon as he can.
“We’ve got to keep looking,” he said. “We’ve been after a striker in that mode for a while and hopefully we’ll bring someone else in to fill the void that’s now been left.
“We want to bolster the squad, but they have to be the right player. There’s no point in just bringing a body in – because they have to compliment what we do. All the player’s we’ve got at the moment are all decent players and we want to try and continue that.”
