Silkmen boss John Askey believes Macclesfield are the last team fellow National League sides want to face.
Macc have won six games on the bounce in all competitions, and top the table by a clear three points.
Their latest test was that of Leyton Orient, where the Silkmen won by a goal to nil in front of over 4,500 fans. With Dagenham next up, Askey says there’s a long way to go, but the squad are confident.
“Dagenham will be an even tougher test than Leyton Orient,” he said. “They’ve started to struggle a little bit though so I doubt they’ll be full of confidence, but they’ve got some good players and I’m sure they’ll be up there come the end of the season.
“Whoever we play I’m sure they’ll treat us with respect and know we’re playing with confidence and winning games. Whoever we play I’m sure we’re the last team they want to be facing at the moment.
“When you’re winning everything’s great, but we’ve got to keep the same work rate going that we’ve showed today. It’s what’s gaining us points and why we’re at the top of the table. Everybody’s working their socks off, and with the ability they’ve got, that’s why we’re picking up these results.”
