After a tough run of away fixtures as well as an FA Cup tie, Saturday’s game away at Barrow will be another test for the Silkmen.

With a full squad available manager John Askey will be looking to field a strong side this afternoon and says he has options in his squad.

John said: “We will try everything we can (to get on another winning run). Everybody is more or less fit so it gives us a good opportunity to select a strong team again. Whoever we play, if we play to our potential and start putting our chances away, we are more than a match for anybody.”

With such a competitive squad, a number of players will be in contention for a starting berth after impressing in the narrow FA Cup defeat to Forest Green Rovers.

“I think it is important (to make changes) because I think we have a squad where we can freshen it up and it is good to be able to do that.

“It gives some others the opportunity to show what they can do and hopefully if we get a win we can keep a winning team.”

Askey is relishing the tough selection calls he has to make ahead of each matchday: “It’s not a headache! It’s a nice position to be in, if we do get a couple of injuries in certain positions we could do with strengthening but more or less everyone is fit so it is a good situation to have.”
