Silkmen add defender to their squad

As announced by Club Chairman Mark Blower, Macclesfield Town Football Club can confirm the signing of defender Jared Hodgkiss. The right-back has signed a two-year contract with the Football Club as John Askey shapes his squad for the new season. A graduate from the West Brom academy, Hodgkiss actually played with Silkmen assistant manager Steve Watson whilst at the Baggies.Whilst at West Brom, Hodgkiss would have loans at Northmapton and Aberdeen before a switch to Forest Green in October 2009.Over the next five seasons Hodgkiss would make over 180 appearances for Forest Green before a move to Kidderminster in 2014.He was a regular for Kidderminster over the next two seasons but was hit with injuries at the start of last term. After regaining fitness he moved to Torquay in a bid to get regular game time and played an important part in helping the Devon side return to form as they fought to stay in the National League.30-year-old Hodgkiss returned to Kidderminster and featured in their play-off campaign and will now look to establish himself in John Askey’s newly assembled Silkmen side..
