Forward leaves Macclesfield for Welsh side

Macclesfield Town can confirm that Chris Holroyd has left the Football Club to sign for fellow National League side Wrexham.The forward has agreed a one-year contract with the Welsh side meaning his time at the Moss comes to an end after five seasons with the Football Club.Holroyd, originally arrived at the Moss on loan from Preston at the start of the 2012/13 campaign and scored nine goals in 23 games.After a short spell with Morecambe, Chris returned to the Moss in the summer of 2013 on a permanent deal and has been virtually ever present for Macclesfield since.After operating in a wide role in previous seasons, Holroyd returned to a preferred central role for the 2016/17 campaign and scored 14 goals for John Askey’s men to top the club’s scoring charts.In total Holroyd made 179 league appearances across his two spells with the Silkmen and scored 32 goals.Everybody at Macclesfield Town would like to wish Chris all the best for the future.
