Former Players Association Update

3 March 2020

Last week we unveiled plans to create a Former Players Association, which would enable us to recognise and celebrate players of yesteryear.
Not only that, we envisage far more supporter engagement with their heroes from days gone by - with former stars playing a much more visible role at the club, both on a matchday and also as part of social events organised by the Association.
The initial response that we have had to this initiative has been very positive, with a number of former players and supporters stating that this is something which in many respects is actually very overdue!
Former players who have already signed up include -
John Cooke
Martin McDonald
Neil Fairclough
Ryan Price
Steve Farrelly
Sean Hessey
and not forgetting the man who signed off his email with "The Legend" - the one and only, Stevie Burr.
If you are in contact with any former players, then please help us to spread the word and create something which we can all be very proud of.
Membership is free of charge to anyone who has made one or more first team appearances for The Silkmen, whilst Associate Memberships will be available to anyone who is related to former players who are no longer with us and those who have been members of our backroom staff over the years.
Anyone who meets the above criteria that wishes to register their interest in this should email for further details.
Initially this will be headed-up by Media Manager Bob Trafford, but our vision for the group will see our loyal supporters playing a leading role in this with the full support of the club.
As such, we will be setting up a working party to oversee the development of what we believe will be a really vibrant and exciting initiative.
If you would like to get involved in this, then please contact Bob via the email address above.
