Northampton Town stormed to promotion in the Sky Bet League Two Play-Off Final last night, as they secured an emphatic 4 - 0 victory over Exeter City.
Keith Curle's side were in the ascendancy right from the first whistle and took just eleven minutes to break the deadlock as Ryan Watson's deflected shot found it's way into the back of the net.
Callum Morton doubled Northampton's lead from close-range just after the half-hour mark and the pendulum was to swing further in the Cobblers' favour in the early stages of the second period when Dean Moxey was dismissed for the Devon side.
Will Hoskins put the game beyond any doubt when he added a third ten minutes from time, with Andy Williams completing the rout in the 89th minute.
As a result, Northampton end their two-year stay in the fourth tier and have been promoted to Sky Bet League One ahead of the 2020/21 season.
