Macclesfield Town Football Academy is happy to announce that Tyler James has been named Academy Player's Player of the Year.
Tyler joined the Academy back in September and has gone from strength to strength. Scoring in the FA Youth Cup he became the Academy's top goalscorer with some devastating performances on an incredibly consistent basis.
In total, Tyler scored thirty-three goals in just twenty-four and this in itself highlights one of the reasons why he is held is such high esteem. In addition to his on the field prowess, Tyler has also had a positive impact within the local community.
During lockdown he has willingly participated in online quizzes which have been hosted by the Community Sports Trust - where he also provided the kids with an insight into life at the Football Academy.
His performances haven't gone unnoticed either, as throughout the season he has been invited to attend first team eam training alongside other Academy players.
Youth Development Manager Paul McGuire had this to say about Tyler -
"Tyler was the one we could 100% rely upon for goals week in week out.
"At this standard, he’s probably as good a goalscorer as you will find, and we’re very happy to have him at our Academy.
"Stand-out moment for me include the brace that he scored against Crewe Alexandra in the FA Youth Cup - both of which were solo goals that made a very good defence look distinctly average.
"Also I have to say that the last minute penalty away at Shrewsbury and the injury time header away to Birmingham City in the cup were all stand-out moments of our season."
