The Silkmen host ninth-placed Forest Green Rovers at Moss Rose tomorrow, as Mark Kennedy looks to build on Tuesday night’s draw with Crewe Alexandra - which saw Macc cruelly denied three points in stoppage time.
Forest Green Rovers last played the Silkmen as recently as December 29th. Farrend Rawson’s second half header ended their seven-game winless run.
Since then, Mark Cooper’s side have lost two, drawn one and won one match. They started the year off with a one nil defeat at home to Exeter, they followed this up with a 1-1 draw against Crawley.
Their next fixture saw them beat Mansfield in an enthralling game which saw them come out 4-3 victors, Aaron Collins scored the winner in the 96th minute for Rovers which ensured the three points.
Forest Green have struggled for consistency of late, losing 2-1 at home to Salford City last Saturday despite recording 30 shots in the whole match.
Here is what Mark Cooper had to say ahead of the game:
“They have had a change of manager and gone totally the other way. They are full on and in-your-face pressing, trying to play out.
“I am very impressed with what I have seen the last few games. They should have beaten Crewe and they were good in the second half last week against Colchester.
“They like to be on the front foot, very energetic and we will have to play well.
“If we have the mentality that we have prepared well, we have rested, we are ready to go, we need to win then I think we will be fine.”
Injuries and Suspensions:
Liam Shephard and Dale Grubb will not be available for Forest Green through injury
