Macclesfield Town Elite Development Squad travelled to Wilmslow Albion last night and emerged with a share of the spoils following a hard-fought contest.
After a quiet initial period, Macc had the first chance on goal when Oliver Jones cut-in from the right-hand side - only to see his effort fly narrowly over the bar.
Jones was involved again shortly after, as his cut-back found Luke Draysey who put the ball just past the outside of the post.
The Silkmen continued to dominate and ten minutes later a neat one-two between Trevor Kyobe and Liam Logan resulted in the latter launching a stinging effort which the warmed the gloves of the Albion 'keeper.
Jones could have opened the deadlock right on the stroke of half-time, yet he was denied by another smart save by the home stopper.
The second half started off slowly, with the hosts arguably starting the brighter.
Macc 'keeper Aum Patel had to be alert when he made a fine save down to his left shortly after the restart and went on to deny the Albion attack throughout the second period.
Substitute Kyah Cahill went close for the visitors from the edge of the area and he then went on to see a venomous effort from range fly inches over the bar.
Patel then made one final save to deny Wilmslow late on, before Josh Clegg was desperately unlucky to see his pinpoint free-kick ricochet off the bar during the dying seconds.
It was another spirited performance for the Silkmen youngsters, who move on to their next warm-up game at Poynton tomorrow afternoon.
