Football Manger World eSports Champion and Macclesfield Town manager Daniel Fry faces his first game in charge of the Silkmen tonight, a tie against Forest Green Rovers.
In Macc’s curtain raiser of the EFL Football Manager Cup, our champion of the world will take on FGR player Chris Stokes.
The tournament is a straight knockout tournament with no handicaps, which means managers will not have boosted teams in order to level the playing field of each match.
Instead, Dan will use his tactical knowhow to guide the Silkmen through the rounds whilst coming up against a variety of managers at each club; ranging from kitmen to players, supporters to TV stars.
In his way tonight is the aforementioned Chris Stokes of Forest Green Rovers, a 29 year old defender who has played 133 games for Rovers. Stokes is quite the gamer; also taking charge of his sides Stay Intertoto Cup campaign which ended in the Round of 32 against Swindon.
The game will provide a first chance for Dan to showcase his skills and he has outlined that he has an adaptive approach to games. In our unveiling of him, he said that he likes his teams to be ‘solid, difficult to beat and aggressive whilst being able to create a
variety of goals’.
Dan has been working hard in his virtual pre-season to understand the strengths of his squad which allows him to create the perfect tactic for the team.
We hope that you can join us at 8pm tonight as we hope to mark our EFL Football Manager Cup debut with a victory. Best of luck Dan and come on you Silkmen!
