Fifty-four teams across the EFL’s three divisions will compete in the tournament which will be in a knockout format with the aim to crown one club as the EFL Football Manager Cup winner.
However, due to there being 54 teams taking part, 10 teams will be given a bye into round two. This will be determined by random selection during the first-round draw on Sunday and is in place to ensure 32 teams take part in Round Two.
The 1st round draw, as previously mentioned, will be this Sunday afternoon with the tournament due to begin on Monday 20th April. A winner will be crowned the EFL Football Manager Cup winner on Sunday 17th May.
Each team representative must play as themselves and it is a straight knockout tournament, compromising of one game. If the game is level at the end of 90 minutes, the tie will go to Extra-Time and Penalties if necessary to produce a winner.
