One year ago today Sol Campbell's Silkmen side secured a crucial point in our battle against relegation as we faced Morecambe at Moss Rose.
Zak Mills fired the visitors ahead with a powerful strike midway through the first half, before Elliott Durrell tucked the ball home to level the scores just past the half-hour mark.
Brentford loanee Reece Cole came agonisingly close to giving Macc the advantage going into the interval, but his free kick struck the post before hitting Morecambe goalkeeper Barry Roche and deflecting to safety.
Chances were at a premium after the break, however, with James Pearson coming closest for Macc after good link up play with substitute Harry Smith.
Morecambe created openings of their own, but Stephen Old and Kevin Ellison were both guilty of spurning chances as the game finished level.
The result left Macc bottom of the table, one point off both Yeovil and Notts County, with a crucial game in hand against Exeter City to be played in midweek.
