Macclesfield’s Jay Harris says that his side will start to get the results they need following a narrow 1-0 loss to Grimsby Town on Saturday.
“We’ve played them twice previously this season and felt that we were on top in both games with one being decided on penalties.
"Today, I thought we dominated both halves which is what is disheartening about it. I thought if we’d taken our chances it would have been a different game.
We’ve got to comb over it because I don’t think we’re far off. It’s a fine line and I think we’ll start picking up the results" said Harris.
Ethan Robson scored the only goal of the game in the 56th minute, in what was another close affair between the two teams.
“When you come under a bit of pressure and you start drawing and losing it is hard because you’re looking to bounce back and get your next win” added the midfielder.
"Once that victory comes, there will be more confidence in the camp. We just need to sustain our levels now over the course of the next two games.
"It’s a learning curve for a few of the boys and for myself so we just need to keep going.”
This evening, the Silkmen take on Port Vale in the Leasing.Com and Harris says that he and his teammates will recover before the game.
"The staff will have a look through the videos to spot all of the good and bad things.
"It doesn’t matter whether its league or cup, we’ve got to win these games. You play football to be successful so that’s what we need to do on Tuesday.”
