Charlotte Looks Back On Crawley Point

10 September 2019

Saturday saw us at the Moss Rose entertaining The Red Devils of Crawley Town.
I remember travelling to Crawley on Saturday last season. It took what felt like a eternity to get to The People’s Pension stadium in West Sussex.
We arrived earlier at the Moss on Saturday, as I had the opportunity to be mascot for the game alongside Luke Lamont.
It was good to have the opportunity to meet Daryl McMahon - he seemed really nice and friendly.
The teams were announced and our starting eleven remains unchanged from our previous league encounter at Stevenage last weekend.
The games gets underway and the boys really did start out at full pace. Theo Archibald hitting the woodwork in the opening minute.
Our first and only goal of the game game courtesy of Theo Vassell not the most spectacular of goals - but I didn’t care, I don’t think Theo or anyone else did either. 1 - 0 Silkmen!!
This is how both teams went in at half time.
Macclesfield got the second half underway. Crawley however looked much brighter in the second half. Both teams had opportunities on goal, however neither team found the back of the net.
That was until a free kick was given for a unfortunate handball outside of the area - which Crawley clinically converted leaving Owen Evans little chance of saving it.
This is how it remained - another point gained against another tough opposition, so I was more than happy with it..
See you all at Grimsby tonight!
