The Silkmen return to the Moss Rose this afternoon for our latest Sky Bet League Two clash against Bradford City.
Macc will be looking to bounce back from our 3-0 defeat away at Cheltenham Town in midweek and return to the form that saw us record back-to-back victories against Port Vale and Oldham in recent weeks.
We caught up with Head Coach Daryl McMahon to get his thoughts ahead of the match:
As for our visitors, Bradford have enjoyed a strong start to the season following their relegation from the Sky Bet League One last campaign.
The Bantams are currently in fourth place in the Sky Bet League Two standings, having accumulated 27 points from their opening 15 matches.
Despite their strong start, our visitors come to the Moss Rose this afternoon on the back of a narrow 2 - 1 home defeat to Port Vale in midweek.
Bradford’s last away defeat came in the middle of September, with a late Ben Tozer strike condemning them to defeat at Cheltenham Town.
This afternoon’s match looks set to be a fiercely contested encounter with both sides looking to bounce back from midweek defeats after a strong period of form beforehand; and we hope to see as many of you as possible back the team and play your part in pushing the Silkmen to a positive result.
Bradford defender Connor Wood had this to say ahead of the game:
“We’ll put that loss behind us and work on getting better going into the weekend and rest of the season.
“I didn’t come on against Macclesfield last year but it’s a tight little ground.
“It will be a hard place to go but we’ve got to come out fighting and hit that level that we set ourselves previously.
“We’ve got to bounce straight back with a positive result and I believe we will.”
