Away Day Blues: Oldham Athletic

17 October 2019

Travelling to Oldham this weekend? Ahead of the game, we’ve compiled a handy Away Day guide which is packed full of all the information you need before heading to Boundary Park.

Stadium Address

Boundary Park

Distance From The Moss Rose: 29.2 miles.

Estimated Travel Time: 54 minutes.

About The Ground

Boundary Park has been the home to Oldham Athletic since 1904 and its capacity currently stands at 13,512 spectators. However, over the years the capacity of the ground has been significantly reduced from its highest point of housing nearly 50,000 fans. The newest addition to the stadium is The Joe Royle Stand which was opened in 2014. Silkmen fans will be housed behind one of the goals in the all seated and covered Chadderton Road End.

Tickets will remain available to purchase from the Moss Rose until noon tomorrow, with prices representing a £2.00 saving on matchday sales.

Advance prices are as follows -

Adult: £18.00

Over 65: £8.00

Students (with valid NUS/University ID): £8.00

Under 21 (with valid ID): £8.00

Under 18: £5.00

Wheelchair / Ambulant Disabled supporters pay the price applicable to their age category, with a free Carer ticket issued if they are on Higher/Enhanced PIP and can provide the relevant documentation.

Matchday parking is available from a number of places around the ground, including the Boundary Park Car Park. This can be accessed from Hilbre Avenue and charges £5, however traffic after the game can be bad so a quick getaway after the final whistle is recommended.

Alternatively, Oldham Royal Hospital charge £3 for matchday parking and can be accessed off Westhulme Avenue at the post code OL1 2JH. The hospital is 0.7km away from the ground so will take around 10 minutes to walk to Boundary Park.

Pizza Hut, Nando’s and a KFC can be found inside the Elk Mill Shopping Park which is just a short walk from the ground.

The closest away friendly pub is the Clayton Green which can be found two hundred yards from the corner of the main stand and the away end on Westwood Retail Park.

Further away from the ground is the Greyhound Inn which will also welcome the travelling Silkmen faithful. It is found on Holden Fold Lane at the postcode OL2 5ES.
