The Silkmen will be hoping to secure back-to-back victories tomorrow as they make the 29-mile trip to Boundary Park, to take on an Oldham side looking for their second win under newly appointed manager, Dino Maamria.
The Latics are yet to win in October after a 1-1 draw with Cheltenham, a 3-0 loss to Accrington Stanley and a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Mansfield - a match which saw them playing with nine men for over 50 minutes of the game.
The former Stevenage man will be keen to secure his second victory under his tenure - the first coming in his first match in charge with a 3-1 victory over Morecambe on September 21.
Dino gave some comments in his pre-match press conference earlier this week.
He said: "Macclesfield have started the season brilliantly.
"I know they favour a back three system and they're rigid with it.
"They've not had many injuries to hamper them. They are definitely not the Macclesfield of last season.
"They are solid, and they've got players who can really make a difference to a game.
"We will need to be at our absolute best on Saturday, and we need to bounce back in front of our own fans.”
Opposition team news:
It has today been announced that Oldham Athletic have picked up former Burnley midfielder Chris McCann on a free transfer. McCann, who has been capped for the Republic of Ireland at youth level, had a brief spell at DC United earlier this year and will be eligible to play in tomorrow’s fixture.
Both Tomas Egert and Filipe Alexandre Morais will be suspended for tomorrow’s clash.
Mohamed Maouche is a doubt for the Latics after picking up a knock against Mansfield Town last weekend.
