Saturday’s filled with football really is my idea of the perfect day - even if it’s one full of constant rain.
Even after getting drenched to the skin during my games in the morning, it couldn’t stop my excitement for the afternoon's game at the Moss against Colchester.
I remember the game last season at Colchester - it was such a long way and it was so cold!
The sky opened and the rain came down again as I was walking down to the ground just as the team news was announced. No changes in the starting eleven from our previous games.
Macc got us underway and they really dis start the game on fire - with the best of the chances in the opening minutes fall to us.
We finally found the back of the net in the 12th minute with a deserved goal from Emmanuel Osadebe.
Macc continued to look the most dangerous throughout the first half, where there were many chances but sadly none of them found the back of the net.
Colchester broke just before half time and their first real shot on target found the back of the net and took us in to the break all even.
Colchester got the second half underway and once again it was a game of two halves. I’m not sure if it was the rain falling down or the goal on half time, but the fire we had in the first half wasnt as vibrant as it was before.
Despite this there are no further goals are scored until the 93rd minute when Fiacre Kelleher managed to get above the Colchester 'keeper and score.
Annoyingly the referee disallows it for a alleged foul on the 'keeper.
The game finished 1-1 and we go again at Cambridge on Saturday.
See you there!
