Games Of The Season: Crawley Town (H)

25 May 2019

Despite being played out during a storm of biblical proportions, Sol Campbell made his debut appearance at the Moss Rose during our Sky Bet League Two clash with Crawley Town last December.
Macc started the brighter and deservedly took the lead just after the half-hour mark thanks to a magical strike from Elliott Durrell.
Picking up the ball thirty yards from goal, Elliott launched a majestic strike which flew into the back of the net and put the hosts firmly into the ascendancy.
After the start of the second half was delayed for fifteen minutes due to the inclement conditions, Macc set their sights on claiming their third league victory in four games - despite having to weather some early Crawley pressure.
A string of defiant stops from Kieran O'Hara preserved our advantage and victory was all but assured with five minutes remaining, as Harry Smith's clinical header sneaked inside the far post.
