MIND UNITED: Silkmen Fanatic To Take On Peak District Challenge

21 May 2019

Last season, we asked our loyal fans to consider doing something very special this summer in signing up for the Mind United: Trek The Peak District Challenge.

We were delighted to hear that Andrew Lamont will be representing Macclesfield Town this coming July and we would like to give him as much help and support as possible over the coming weeks.

The trek will be conducted overnight and promises to be a real test of physical and mental strength.

The EFL have pledged their support for the event, as they join forces with their charity partner Mind, in order to raise some much-needed funds for the valuable work which is done to support those battling mental health problems.

We are all aware of the vast amount of statistics which plague our society in regard to mental health problems and events such as this play a crucial role in not only fundraising, but also in breaking the stigma surrounding the issue.

Media Manager Bob Trafford stated -

"Everyone at Macclesfield Town would like to thank Andrew for taking on this great challenge in support of such a worthy cause.

"Over the next few weeks, we will be giving Andrew all the help and support that he needs in order to make a real difference to the lives of so many people who suffer with a range of mental health problems.

"Andrew is a true Silkmen hero and I hope that everyone will give him the encouragement which he deserves over the course of his inspiring journey."

After signing up for the illustrious challenge, Andrew commented -

"The mental health cause is one which is incredibly important to me and as such, I am really excited to get involved in this challenge together with Mind.

"In addition to this, I am so proud to be representing the club I love as part of this and would like to thank Bob for all the support that he has given me so far.
