Despite the new campaign only being a month old, we claimed our third League One scalp of the season back in September as Blackpool visited the Moss Rose in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Nathan Blissett opened the scoring in the 14th minute, as he confidently drilled home Malachi Napa's tenacious assist and for a while it was Mark Yates' side who looked favourites to extend their lead.
Despite this, parity was restored just after the half hour mark when Callum Guy hit an unstoppable drive from range to leave Rhys Taylor with no chance in the Silkmen goal.
The two sides were locked for just four minutes - as Michael Rose then picked up the ball in space, before majestically finding the top left-hand corner from all of twenty-five yards to restore our advantage.
That's how things remained until twelve minutes from time, when Scott Wilson was impeded in the area and Referee Sarginson pointed to the penalty spot.
Rose stepped up and coolly despatched the ball past the Blackpool 'keeper to hand his side a two-goal advantage.
The Tangerines fought back however and reduced the arrears right on the stroke of full-time when John O'Sullivan scrambled the ball home to set up a grandstand finish.
Copious amounts of pressure were applied to Rhys Taylor's goal in the dying seconds and Blackpool's persistence was rewarded when Paudie O'Connor blasted home in the fourth minute of injury time.
With eight successive penalty victories behind them, Macc confidently made it nine out of nine as Taylor saved from Marc Bola before Rose converted his second spot-kick of the tie to hand The Silkmen a bonus point.
