Macclesfield Town are committed to help reduce the stigma which surrounds mental health and as such, we are actively planning to hold an awareness event at the Moss Rose which will hopefully prove to be a really special event within the local community.
The objective of this is simple - it is to help empower all those who suffer with a mental health problem, whilst also providing all those interested in the area with an innovative and captivating discussion about the wider issue.
Media Manager Bob Trafford stated -
"Throughout the season, I have worked tirelessly to promote the fundamental messages surrounding mental health in partnership with the EFL and their charity partner, Mind.
"As a sufferer myself, I recognise just how difficult it can be to recognise when there is a problem and seek the help which is both needed and deserved.
"Many of you will have seen the video that the club published back in February, which received an enormous amount of views. This not only showed me that people are willing to help those who suffer from a mental health problem, but are also as committed as we are to help break the stigma.
"What I now want to do is to facilitate an event here at the club, which reaches out to the local community in a bid to help, educate but most importantly, empower everyone affected by mental health problems.
"I have a meeting booked in for next week to discuss how we can make this event a really successful one and have already secured the services of notable figures from within the town.
"I have no doubt that this will be a really interesting and poignant event and if you would like to learn more about our initial plans then please do contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org"
We will provide an update on this, including the confirmed date and time in the near future.
