Macclesfield Town midfielder Reece Cole was almost lost for words, after The Silkmen defiantly retained our EFL status with a one-all draw against Cambridge on Saturday.
After a rollercoaster ride of a season, the Brenford loanee could not hide his emotion after the final whistle -
"It's an amazing feeling. During the game it was tough, especially when we knew that Notts County were winning - but Duzza's equaliser was just the best feeling ever."
Reece replaced Ben Stephens just after the hour mark and boss Sol Campbell had a simple message for him -
"The Manager just told be to work as hard as I can and run my socks off. He told me to keep having shots and show my quality really.
"I just went out there and gave it my all."
Five minutes after Reece's introduction Elliott's magical strike fired Macc level -
"It was such a relief.
"We weren't really that worried about Notts, as we knew that we had a job to do and we went out there and did it"
After a tumultuous season for so many reasons, Reece signed off by thanking all those who had stood with us through it all -
"The atmosphere towards the end was electric - especially with all the fans behind the goal. I've not seen anything like that before in my time here.
"The fans kept us going - they were our twelfth man, so a big thank you to every one of them."
