Club Statement: London Road Terrace Closure

23 March 2019

Over the last few weeks, the club has been made aware of a growing number of complaints in relation to abusive language and intimidating behaviour within part of the London Road Terrace.

This is something that we take very seriously and as a result, it was deemed necessary to close part of that area of the ground today as well as the Main Stand for non-season ticket holders.

The vast majority of people who normally occupy these areas are some of our most loyal and dedicated supporters and as such, this decision was not taken lightly - but the safety of everyone in that area has to take paramount importance.

As we embark on the final critical phase of the season, it is imperative that all our energies are spent willing the team on in a productive and meaningful way. In order to facilitate this, the part-closure of the London Road Terrace and Main Stand to non-season ticket holders will remain effective for the remainder of the season.

We sympathise greatly with those affected by this and as a result, we will offer any supporter with a season ticket for the London Road Terrace a refund on a pro-rata basis.

Season Ticket holders should email our Fans Liaison Manager Bob Trafford at press@mtfc.co.uk if they would like to receive this.
