Macclesfield Town Community Sports Trust run activites at many local care homes - including Prestbury House.
One of the residents is lifelong Macclesfield Town supporter Bernard Watson and he fondly remembers games at the Moss Rose and frequently reminisces about his favourite matches.
An avid fan for over fifty years, Bernard has kept his season tickets going back to the 1970's.
Recently Bernard lost his partner of eighteen years and has found life a little difficult over recent weeks.
As a result, the community coaches took it upon themselves to try and cheer him up. The coaches got a letter signed by Sol Campbell expressing his sympathies to Bernard at this testing time.
After reading this letter, Bernard was overwhelmed and was very appreciative of this kind gesture from the club.
After eighteen months since his last visit to the Moss Rose, we have arranged for Bernard to attend the game against Newport County on Easter Monday.
We are really looking forward to welcoming Bernard back to the club in a few weeks time and will make sure that his return is a special one.
