Charlotte Looks Back On Her First Trip To Huish Park

18 March 2019

Yesterday I got to cross off another of the 92when I made the trip to Huish Park - home of Yeovil Town.

It was certainly a trek down to Somerset and was over a 400 mile round trip. I must say that I was worried about the game been on with the unpredictable weather.

We entered the ground and my heart sinks as we’re wearing black! You know how I feel about the away kit this season Im sure I’m not the only one who thinks it’s unlucky!

However moments later even this can’t dampen my excitement when the team news filters through and our Magic Man Danny Whitaker features!

Looking at the lads on the pitch their faces are full of concentration and determination throughout the warm up. It’s the same look on each and every Silkmen fans face when I look around the crowd. We know how big today’s game is to the fight and we are all in it together.

Right from the kick off the boys are fighting for everything despite the windy conditions. Then on 19 minutes Ben Stephens plays a wonderful ball across the penalty area to James Pearson for him to  score his first league goal!

To see Kieran O’Hara come lead us in celebration was wonderful and he made some crucial saves throughout the game. There was an amazing headed clearance on the line by David Fitzpatrick too.

A brilliant pass at the other end by Reece Cole to Harry Smith who put it past the keeper putting us two nil up. The celebration of that goal where the team ran the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of the travelling fans meant so much.

The feeling at the final whistle was incredible a mixture of relief, pride and determination. The black shirt jinx has been smashed away, I was proud of each and every Silk yesterday both players and fans alike and know that we will get out of trouble over the coming weeks

See you once again back home against Stevenage.
