Macclesfield Town would like to update all supporters in regard to the London Road Terrace and the newly-named Bollington Insurance stand (formerly the Weston Park Care Homes stand).
Both of these areas were reserved exclusively for season ticket holders towards the end of last season, as a result of a multitude of factors which centred on the behaviour of a minority.
We would like to reiterate our deepest apologies to all of the passionate and loyal supporters who were affected by this due to no fault of their own. It was a difficult decision to take, but ultimately we had to address what was undoubtedly an escalating situation.
When we advised supporters of how access to the aforementioned areas would change, we also stated that this would be reviewed in the summer.
As a result, we would like to provide an initial update on this.
We are pleased to advise that access to the Bollington Insurance stand and the London Road South area will be open to both season tickets and non-season tickets ahead of the 2019/20 season.
This means that season ticket holders and those who buy tickets on the day will be able to enjoy their football together within these areas of the stadium.
We would also like to clarify the current situation regarding the central area of the London Road Terrace - which resides behind the home dugout and that which is utilised by the match officials.
As you may be aware, we are currently in the process of upgrading our dugouts and have a number of potential plans which would facilitate this.
As a result, we will only be able to confirm how this particular area will be populated once a decision has been made in regard to how the new dugouts will be configured.
Whilst we recognise that the slight uncertainty must be frustrating - particularly for those supporters who have stood in this area for very many years, we also wanted to provide you with a transparent assessment of what is happening in this regard.
In addition to this and dependant on the configuration of the new dugouts, it may also be the case that a row of seats from the Bollington Insurance stand would have to be removed in order to help facilitate entry and exit access.
Should this be the case, then we will contact any supporter affected and make sure that they are offered an alternative seat which they are happy with.
We are working together with a number of outside agencies to have these issues resolved in a timely manner and will update all supporters once again as soon as we are able.
We want everyone to enjoy their football with us next season in a safe and welcoming environment, as we eagerly anticipate the start of the 2019/20 Sky Bet League Two season.
