Macclesfield Town are delighted to announce that highly-rated striker Joe Ironside has agreed a one-year deal at the club.
The 25-year-old progressed through the youth ranks at Sheffield United and was part of the side which reached the FA Youth Cup Final against Manchester United in 2011.
Joe made his debut for The Blades a day after his nineteenth birthday and went on to make sixteen appearances for the club, before gaining valuable loan experience at FC Halifax Town, Harrogate Town, Alfreton Town and Hartlepool United.
After leaving Bramall Lane in January 2015, Joe returned to Alfreton and signed an eighteen month contract with The Reds.
He went on to make thirty appearances for the Derbyshire outfit, before signing for Nuneaton Town in February 2016.
Joe scored sixteen goals in forty-four appearances at Liberty Way and this understandably elicited much interest from a variety of clubs, all of whom were eager to secure his services.
Joe signed for Kidderminster Harriers in March 2017 and his prowess in front of goal continued to shine through, as he struck forty-eight times in ninety-six appearances.
During this period, Joe received international recognition as he was called up to the England C team and also spent a brief spell on loan at York City last season.
We would like to welcome Joe to the Moss Rose and wish him the very best of luck ahead of the new campaign.
Joe's first interview as a Macclesfield Town player will be published here at www.mtfc.co.uk tomorrow - so keep checking back for all the latest news.
