Macclesfield Town can confirm that we are the latest club to sign up to Paddy Power's successful "Save Our Shirt" campaign and as such we are delighted to announce that the betting giants will be un-sponsoring our home and away kits for the 2019/20 season.
The Silkmen join Huddersfield Town, Newport County, Motherwell F.C. and Southend United in being ‘unsponsored’ by the Irish bookmaker.
This means Paddy Power will be our title sponsor for the 19/20 season, but their logo will not feature on our brand new Nike shirts.
The new kit will be worn for the first time tomorrow afternoon, as we head to Hartlepool United to contest our final pre-season friendly before the big EFL kick-off on 3rd August.
Speaking after the deal was signed, Sol Campbell stated: "We're delighted to have Paddy Power saving our shirt.
"The club saw their campaign and were really keen to be a part of it and we wanted to return our kit back to our fans.
"We’re pleased to have Paddy Power un-sponsoring us, and we look forward to the season ahead.”
A spokesman from Paddy Power said: “Macclesfield saw the success of the Save Our Shirt campaign and felt they as club are a perfect fit for the intiative.
“We’re delighted to welcome Sol and The Silkmen on board for the season, and to give the shirt back to their fans.”
Commercial Manager James Beckett added -
"Macclesfield Town are proud to be unsponsored by Paddy Power this season. It is an exciting partnership with us with one of the world's recognisable betting brands.
"It's a partnership that will bring great commercial benefit to the Football Club and I'm sure our supporters will be pleased to see us linking up with Paddy Power.
"We would like to thank everyone concerned for their efforts in bringing this to fruition and saving our shirt!"
