Around League Two

26 July 2019

With little over a week until the new campaign begins, we have a look at what’s going on with some of the other clubs in Sky Bet League Two.

Moore Makes It Five To Move From Bury To Plymouth

A fifth player has now moved from the Shakers to the Pilgrims, this time around its forward Byron Moore, on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old striker scored five goals in eighteen games for Bury last season, after joining them from Bristol Rovers.

Moore joins fellow attacker Dom Telford, winger Danny Mayor and defenders Will Aimson and Callum McFadzean in following new manager, Ryan Lowe to Home Park.

Oldham Sign Benin Striker Azankpo

Oldham Athletic have made forward Desire Segbe Azankpo their eighth signing of the summer, who joins the Latics on a one-year-deal.

The 26-year-old leaves Slovak Super Liga side FK Senica to make the switch to Oldham, after spending the majority of his career in France.

Azankpo has five caps for Benin and was part of their squad that reached the last eight of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Salford Sign Midfielder Smith On Two-Year Deal

Newly-promoted League Two outfit Salford City, have bolstered their squad with the addition of 23-year-old Martin Smith.

He came through Sunderland’s academy but didn’t make an appearance for the first team, before being released by Swindon at the end of last season.

Smith said: "It's a great feeling, something which I wanted to be a part of - a great club which is on the rise.”

Sheffield United Winger Re-Signs For Carlisle United

Carlisle have re-signed Nathan Thomas on a season-long loan deal after his deal with Gillingham was cancelled.

Earlier this month, the 24-year-old signed for the League One club on loan, but he struggled to settle there and returns to the Blues, where he scored four goals in sixteen appearances last campaign.

Manager Steven Pressley told the club website. "He was one of my main targets. We're delighted we've got it over the line. He's a really exciting player."
