Match Preview: Macclesfield Town v Swindon Town

5 January 2019

Macclesfield Town return to Sky Bet League Two action tomorrow as we lock horns with Swindon Town at the Moss Rose.

The Silkmen go into the clash against The Robins on the back of a 1-1 draw against Tranmere on New Year’s Day.

This is what Sol had to say ahead of the game:

The Silkmen are expected to be without James Pearson (knee) in addition to the longer term absentees. Danny Whitaker faces a fitness race for the game, whilst Nathan Cameron is expected to return to the starting eleven.

Swindon come into Saturday’s encounter on the back of a 2-0 home defeat to Exeter, a result that leaves them 14th in the Sky Bet League Two standings, having picked up 33 points from their 26 matches so far this season.

The Robins are without a league victory since the 8th December, a 2-1 success over Newport County, drawing three and losing twice since then.

Our visitors have been boosted by the recent loan arrivals of Canice Carroll and Ben House, from Brentford and Reading respectively, both of whom will be looking to make their Swindon debuts at the Moss Rose this weekend.

Here is what Carroll had to say ahead of the game:

“I’ve got a lot of pressure on my shoulders, and I’m good at dealing with pressure – I like to deal with pressure and want to get stuck in at Macclesfield.”
