Andy Worth Provides An Update On Danny's Testimonial Season

30 January 2019

We all know that Danny is adored by the Silkmen hardcore who consistently and justifiably chant his name in homage to the universally popular midfielder during the course of games.

Only a few short months ago Danny's testimonial season got off to a fantastic start at Mottram Hall with his gala dinner, where we wildly exceeded expectations in what was raised on the night.

The Danny Whitaker Testimonial Committee wholeheartedly recognise that for many of you such an event was a bit too steep in terms of financial outlay so near to Christmas. As a consequence, the next instalment of Danny's testimonial season is aimed much more at you; the amazing Silkmen hardcore of our beloved club to help to fill up the testimonial coffers for the legend that is Danny Whitaker!

On Friday 1st March 2019 there will be a race night within the the McIlroy Suite. The event is from 7pm till late, and includes a fantastic two course meal; a Q&A with the legend himself, and of course the chance to raise pots of dosh for him on a fun filled race night and all for just 20 pounds!

The event will be facilitated by the deadly trio of Dean Holmes, Robert Stirling and Sean Worth, who will  be aided and abetted by their ever so supportive compatriots and of course yours truly!

We sincerely hope that this event can prove to be an enjoyable end to another busy working week, and also help to get us in the mood for the short journey to Bury FC the very next day in support of our beloved blues.

Please support us by making sure you buy a ticket / tickets and just 'do it for Danny'to help us make some serious dosh for a guy who has been such an incredible ambassador for our club over many years of dedicated service.

The tickets will be available from Saturday 9th February 2019 when the Silkmen entertain Crewe Alexandra in the 'El Cheshico' derby, and to reserve your tickets please contact me at

I am Silkmen till I die!

Chairman of the Danny Whitaker Testimonial Committee.
