Charlotte Looks Back On "Perfect" Saturday

23 January 2019

Last Saturday really was a perfect day for me, as we all came down to the Moss Rose to see our heroes take on Oldham Athletic. I had also played (and won) two games for Macc Ladies in the morning, so I was really excited for the game to come around.

I have to admit that with the weather being really cold, I had been slightly worried that the game would not be on. The weather forecasts were saying that snow could well be on the way and everywhere seemed to be freezing so well done to the ground staff for making sure that the game went ahead!

We expected a big crowd at the Moss, so we got there early and saw the ground fill up. I was really pleased that Callum Evans was back in the team and even though we conceded a penalty right at the start of the game, Kieran was so unlucky not to stop hit with his feet.

Going a goal down did nothing to stop Macc attacking Oldham and they never gave up from that early disappointment. Harry Smith's goal just before half-time meant that the second half was all about us going on to win the game.

Scott looked so cool when he chipped the ball over the 'keeper to put us into the lead - it was like he was on the training ground!

The celebrations in front of the Star Lane End were amazing. It reminded me a little bit of last season in terms of everyone believing that we would be successful.

This Saturday we go down to Cheltenham and could move out of the relegation zone for the first time since the start of the season. I am already really excited for the game and am sure that we will go there and claim our third win in a row!

Come on you blues!

Charlotte.
