It was an early night for me on Friday night which I didn't really like but I didn't want to be tired for the long trip to Crawley the next morning.
I was sure that my Mum was teasing me about the journey length but no there and back is 444 miles! I also see why people dislike the M25 so much as we were stuck on it for what seemed like days.
We arrived at Crawley on a warm sunny day for February. We got our tickets and settled down in the sun for a drink while I looked at the match day programme. Just as the team news is announced and I entered the ground and couldn't wait for the game to start.
The boys are then on the pitch for their pre match routine. It looks like it’s really hard work but it’s good to see them smiling through it. I look around and see many familiar faces despite the long journey and this make me smile because we all are in this together.
The game kicked off and we’re attacking the goal at our end. It was great to see Harry Smith’s header go in just before half time. I was sure that we would go on to win the game and following a change of seat at half time due to the sun we were ready for the second half.
That hope of three points was lost in the final moments when Crawley equalised which was a little bit sad but our travelling support never stopped willing our team over the finishing line.
This felt like points dropped again however after a long drive home, a sleep and a think about it maybe it needs to be looked at as another point gained?
Well I’m already planning my trip to Bury another ground to tick of for me this season. I hope as many of you will join me as you can as we continue to fight our way out of the bottom two.
