I really had been wishing the week away last week - especially after our very exciting Cheshire derby with Crewe.
Half term arrived and I was looking forward to our home game against Colchester to start the holiday.
If you remember we made the long journey down there back in December and it was so cold that day!
We parked up just as the team news is announced. If I was excited before I was more so after our “wizard of the wing” Elliott Durrell is named on the bench alongside a mixture of old and new faces.
A fabulous first half saw us confidently passing the ball all over the pitch. This saw us get our rewards moments before half time when Scott Wilson scored following a well-placed pass from Harry Smith.
Unfortunately the second half saw Colchester awarded a penalty. Which was converted from the spot even though Kieran went that right way. The game finished at 1-1 which felt like points dropped and to be honest I was disappointed for a time.
I’m already planning my trip to Crawley though which I’m been constantly reminded is a long way but I’m hoping to see lots of faces there to cheer the boys on with me and finally climb out of the bottom two!
See you there.
